Tortuga means "Turtle".
In the early 20th century, there was a large freshwater lake inhabited by turtles, just meters away from the shoreline of Golden Sands. It was a remarkable sight. The beautiful name Golden Sands is connected to a legend that it was a favorite spot for pirates and a hiding place for their stolen treasures. The land decided to take revenge on the plunderers and turned their gold into shimmering golden sand. Turtles, who appeared on Earth long ago, never cease to amaze us.

The turtle is strongly connected to the element of water. It is a hero in many Chinese legends. According to one of them, a giant turtle helped the first emperor to control the flooding of the Yellow River. As a reward, the emperor granted the turtle ten thousand years of life. Thus, the turtle became a symbol of strength and long life.
